The cake we chose
I was able to take the cake that's in the photos below and photoshop it to approximately what we wanted. The bakery is able to do this but the ribbon will be in fondant instead of actual ribbon so that it won't look funky when we cut into it and might be able to add some silver cake dust to the raised parts of the scroll work. The layers will be two of chocolate cake with peanutbutter buttercream and one of vanilla cake with raspberry buttercream.

The Cake
Here's what our venue has to say about cakes:
Specialty cakes
Minimum of 50 people
Wedding cakes are priced at $6 per person. An appropriately sized cake will be prepared for the number in your party.
Wedding Cakes (3-Tier, 4-Tier, 5-Tier)
Cake:
Chocolate, White, Spice, Carrot
Frostings :
Buttercream, Whipped Cream, Rolled Fondant
Fillings:
German Chocolate, Lemon, Bavarian Cream, Whipped Cream, Raspberry, Strawberry, Chocolate Mousse, and more
Sheet Cakes (Two Layers)
1/4 Sheet (serves 20) $125
1/2 Sheet (serves 40) $200
Full Sheet (serves 80) $350
I asked the caterer what this means as far as what designs I could choose and she said so long as the design wasn't too intricate (like sugar balls or thousands of tiny sugar butterflies cascading down... well you get the idea) that I could go nuts.
I started looking around the knot as well as other places and here are some of the designs that I came across that I liked:

I like this one, but maybe the icing could be in chocolate with white scroll details instead.
I like the little blue designs and how they pop on the chocolate icing
the flowers on this are nicely done and are very cute
I really like how simple, classy, elegant and sensual this topper looks
I'm not sure where I got this picture, but if you posted it then tell me so I can give you credit

chocolate! Not too crazy about the bow and all the flowers but the white flourishes are a very nice and subtle touch
I really enjoy the crackle-mosaic effect this one has with the chocolate pieces
underneath all the flowers and grapes is a great starting point for our cake. I think it's because it feels clean and crisp to me
the brown frosting is too light for our colors but I just love the way the sugar flowers look on it
I know the orchids are white, but they look blue-ish to me and the way they look on the cake makes me... happy. This cake looks simple, clean and I like it
not crazy about the branches but I really like the cherry blossoms
some of the flowers are painted on to the cake and some are sugar flowers added on. I really like the play of 2-D and 3-D flowers on this one but we're probably not going to do something like this
I know my fiancee doesn't want a groom's cake, but if I can sneak it in I'd want to get him something like this only in black like the elite X-Box. The writing on top says "Achievement Unlocked Lifetime Achievement" followed by what I think is the bride's initials or the wedding date, either way I think it's cute
Another cute one I would consider if I knew more than just us and our gamer friends would get this... maybe this would make a good centerpiece. Just kidding.
I collected these when I thought we were going to do cupcakes. Since we've checked out our venue we found that they don't do cupcakes for wedding cakes, they do just regular cakes. I was a little sad because I liked the idea of not having to worry about cutting or having enough for everyone. Oh well, enjoy.
